Diversity Cafe - Continuing the Journey of DEI

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
We invite you to join the Diversity Committee of Rhode Island SHRM for its Fourth Diversity Cafe "Continuing the Journey of DEI." This will be an energizing morning of connections, conversations, and programming, focused on today's leading topics around diversity in the workplace.
The cafe includes four (4) mini 20-25 minute awareness-building sessions that are facilitated by 1-2 individuals in a round-table style discussion. Sessions are intended to raise participants' awareness, find collective changes, and open space for attendees to ask questions about the specific topic in an intimate setting.
PROGRAM TOPICS:
- Promoting Inclusivity in Financial Equity - we'll explore the intersection of inclusivity and financial equity, examining how we can create systems and practices that ensure fair and equitable access to foundational resources around financial equity and practices we can each take to support wealth and access distribution for individuals most historically marginalized.
- Fostering Inclusion and Support: Employee Resource Groups - we'll focus on providing the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to help our ERGs thrive. Whether you're a seasoned ERG leader or a new member eager to contribute, know that your participation is integral to our collective success.
- Navigating Burnout: An Introduction to Sustainable Well-being - we’ll aim to provide you with valuable insights and practical strategies to recognize, address, and prevent burnout in your workplace.
- Disability and Accessibility in the Workplace - we’ll embark on an important journey to explore how we can foster inclusivity and create environments that accommodate the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities.
