Program Description

Every company needs effective leaders throughout the organization, but that importance is often overlooked. Often, the best individual contributor is thrown into a leadership role because of their individual success without any training or support on how to lead others.  This often create a “survival of the fittest” situation amongst the leadership ranks of many companies. 

It is important to develop a successful leadership development program that will strengthen current leaders and provide a clear pathway for potential leaders to learn and grow.  Internal leadership development programs provide employees with opportunities for broadening their skill-sets and strengthening the skills that they need to advance in your organization as well as in their career.

This results in added benefits to your company including increased innovation, creativity, and productivity within teams as well as giving a healthy boost to employee morale. It also helps employees understand their own value within the company and how their work contributes to it, making them feel more connected to the organization.

In this session, learn about the key architectural elements of a successful leadership development programs and how even a small company with only a few leaders can leverage the common traits of leadership development across different businesses and industries to build a sustainable leadership development program.

About the Partnership

The Leadership Partnership of Rhode Island is comprised of a group of Rhode Island employers in the manufacturing and related industries, supported by the University of Rhode Island. Funded by Real Jobs RI to offer professional development and support to leaders in the industry, the Leadership Partnership of Rhode Island accomplishes this through New and Emerging Leaders Program and accompanying Mentor development.
