Leadership Development has traditionally focused on competency and knowledge development. The most important skill that is often neglected is human connection – understanding a fellow human beyond a transactional level. One consequence of this is that two-thirds of the US workforce is disengaged at work, consistently reported by Gallup.
Using a coach approach is a proven method for improving employee engagement. Whether it be receiving executive coaching or being “coach-like” at work, developing a more empathetic approach to leading is having a positive impact on employee development, client satisfaction and business performance.
This session will help you develop the agility to respond to the challenges that HR Leaders are facing in the 21st century. During this session, Mike Hutchins will demonstrate how this approach can be applied to a range of business interactions such as leading change, giving feedback, having difficult conversations, enhancing team relationships and maximizing performance.

Mike, a UK and US citizen, is an ICF-PCC level Executive Coach and CPA. He has over 1,500 hours of professional coaching experience, working with managers, leaders, team coaching and coach training. He trains executives in leadership development and has designed a range of customized and off-the-shelf programs, including an ICF-ACC Leadership and Coach Certification program. Mike qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 with PwC in the UK and also worked with KPMG as a consultant for 13 years across Europe, Asia and the Middle East
