PANELISTS:

Distinguished Panelist

J. Jack Andrade

Jack is a USAF Veteran, who served under Presidents Nixon and Ford.  Honorably discharged, he traveled America to readjust to civilian life and to find out what he missed.  After this adjustment, he returned and entered the personal computer industry for software companies along Route 128.  He graduated from what was then Bryant College with a degree in business.  

Since 2010, he has served as a Local Veteran Employment Representative for RI’s Veteran Services Unit of the RI DLT.  He brings a unique ability to listen and address the personnel needs of small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.  To help Rhode Island companies grow, he passionately advocates the benefits and value of hiring Veterans.

Whether translating the military language of MOS, AFSC, Ratings and their occupational equivalents, to tax credits and On-The-Job-Training for Veteran hires, Mr. Andrade is passionate about matching Employers needs with qualified Veteran candidates.

Christopher Tanguay

Chris Tanguay is a Coordinator for the Rhode Island Department of Labor and is the Coordinator of the Employer Engagement Team and former Lead Program Manager for the Department’s response to the Opioid crisis.  Chris has, also been the Manager of the American Job Centers throughout RI. Before that he has worked in the non-profit sector as a community educator and career counselor and manager working for such organizations as the Stanley Street Treatment and Resources (SSTAR), the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, and the Central RI Area Health Education Center where he served as Executive Director.  Chris, a native Rhode Islander, lives in Warwick with his wife April.  Chris is the father of five; two grown children, a set of 18-year-old triplets.

Susan Borden of Rite-Solutions

Susan joined Rite-Solutions in 2004 as a Systems Analyst before transitioning into Human Resources at the company.  Prior experience supporting area government contractors in various information technology roles provided an insight that was easily applied to her role at Rite-Solutions as Human Resources Manager and now as Vice President of Human Resources.  Ms. Borden is responsible for the operations related to Human Resources, Security and Reception as well as the development and execution of human resources strategy for Rite-Solutions.

Ms. Borden graduated from Smith College with a degree in Government and holds Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certifications.

SSG Thomas W. Young

SSG Young is an Army Recruiter out of the Warwick recruiting center. He originally enlisted in the Army in 2015 out of Ocala, Fl as a Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Specialist. He has had assignments attached to Military Police, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, and the Corps of Engineers in various positions. As an Army Recruiter he is well versed in current programs offered for those enlisting into the military and options that may be of benefit to those on their way or currently out.
