This dynamic session delves into effective Harvard negotiation strategies, especially tailored for businesses. Throughout this class, we will emphasize the importance of understanding the fundamental interests of the opposing party to foster mutually-beneficial solutions. Our focus will be on key topics such as active listening, brainstorming, navigating empathy-assertiveness tension, as well as leveraging the power of alternatives and walk-away options. By mastering these skills, you will be better equipped to achieve favorable outcomes in your business negotiations. Our Harvard-certified instructor will provide practical tools that you can implement while coaching your teams, allowing you to optimize their negotiation capabilities after the program.

Dr. Eugene B. Kogan is an award-winning Harvard thought leader and keynote speaker on power strategies in negotiation and leadership. For over 15 years, he has enabled thousands of executives worldwide to make strategic choices during pivotal moments. With insights grounded in rigorous research—including a co-authored book, Mediation: Negotiation by Other Moves (Wiley 2021)—and firsthand learning from masters of the craft like Henry Kissinger, Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, Dr. Kogan offers tailored approaches to cultivate resilient, forward-thinking leadership cultures. He has a Ph.D. from Brandeis, postdoc from Harvard Kennedy School, and executive education certificates from Harvard Law School.
