Circles and Silence – Opioid Intervention and Prevention in the Workplace
FREE EVENT
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Overdose deaths are being caused by illicit drugs/counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl. Fentanyl has been detected in heroin, cocaine, marijuana, Adderall, Xanax, MDMA, Ecstasy, Molly, marijuana/THC extracts, and other prescription or illicit pills. Additionally, we are experiencing an alarming increase in overdoses due to polysubstance use, the consumption of more than one drug. Rhode Islanders are unknowingly, and routinely consuming fentanyl mixed with Xylazine, an animal tranquilizer.
PROGRAM FOCUS:
Overview of Rhode Island’s opioid epidemic and how it impacts everyone, including businesses and organizations. Presentation of Circles and Silence opioid intervention and prevention video. The video is impactful and touches upon all aspects of opioid use dependency. After the video, two co-presenters will share their powerful, but loving testimonies. The main co-presenters are employed at Anchor Recovery, Marigold Health, and the Amos House, including moms and dads impacted by this opioid crisis from RI communities. There will be a question-and-answer period.
